Privacy Policy & Cookie Notice

Last updated: 1.6.2026

This Privacy Policy explains how soljuu collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit our website at soljuu.com (the "Website"), and how we use cookies. We are committed to handling your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish data protection law.

1. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal data we collect through the Website only. The Website is an informational and marketing site. It does not process payments and does not run the soljuu table ordering service. Our ordering tablets, when live, will be covered by separate terms and a separate data agreement with each restaurant.

2. What personal data we collect
We aim to collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you interact with the Website, we may collect:
a) Information you give us directly (Keep this section if your site has a contact form or you invite enquiries by email. Delete it if not.) If you contact us through a form on the Website or by emailing us, we collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.
b) Technical and usage data (via cookies) When you visit the Website, our hosting provider and any analytics tools may automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. See the Cookie Notice in Section 9 below.
We do not collect special categories of data, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR)
Responding to enquiries you send us | Performance of/steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); or our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f))
Operating and securing the Website | Our legitimate interest in running a functional, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f))
Analytics cookies (if used) | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a))

4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Website ("processors"), under appropriate agreements:

  • Wix — our website hosting provider, which processes technical data on our behalf as part of providing the hosting and any built-in analytics.

  • (Add any others if you adopt them later, e.g. an email tool or CRM. As of now, you told me you use none — so keep this list to Wix only.)

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. International data transfers
Our hosting provider, Wix, is based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and may process data in countries including the United States and Israel. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection. (A lawyer should confirm the current Wix transfer mechanism at the time you publish.)

6. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Enquiry messages: kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. (Suggested: 12–24 months — set a figure you'll actually follow.)

  • Technical/analytics data: retained according to the settings of the relevant tool (see Cookie Notice).

7. How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. The Website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;

  • request correction of inaccurate data;

  • request erasure of your data;

  • request restriction of, or object to, our processing;

  • request data portability;

  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (this does not affect prior processing); and

  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@soljuu.com. In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto, tietosuoja.fi).

9. Cookie Notice
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them as follows:
Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Website to function and to keep it secure. These are set automatically and do not require consent.
Functional and analytics cookies (keep if applicable — Wix sets some of these by default) — these help the Website work properly and let us understand how visitors use it (e.g. via Wix's built-in analytics). These are only used with your consent.
We ask for your consent to non-essential cookies through a cookie banner when you first visit the Website. You can accept or decline, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the Website or your browser settings.
(Practical note: Wix provides a built-in cookie consent banner and a cookie settings panel — enable these in your Wix dashboard so this section is actually true. If you add Google Analytics or a Meta pixel later, they must be listed here and gated behind consent.)

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be posted on the Website.
